1st Sunday - AUSTIN KITE FESTIVAL
80th Annual Zilker Park Kite Festival ! Hundreds of kites and colors will fill the sky as thousands gather to welcome the spring in Zilker Park on “Kite Day”. The festival, sponsored by The Exchange Club and the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department, is FREE of charge to attend or participate in. Registration for competition starts at 12 noon, events start at 1pm. Everyone is welcome to come enjoy this grand celebration of the spring, even the family pets.

May-O' HENRY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP PUN-OFF
Help the Friends of the O. Henry and Dickinson Museums celebrate the lowest form of humor at the Annual O. Henry Pun-Off World Championships. The competition will be held at the O. Henry Museum in Brush Square, downtown Austin, TX (5th Street at Neches). This annual irreverent assault on the English language annually lures both veteran verbivores and naive neophytes for verbal jousting. More info at

4th- FIREWORKS at ZILKER PARK with THE AUSTIN SYMPHONY
On July 4th, well over 100,000 people will gather at Zilker Park for the largest Independence Day celebration in Austin ever.  Featuring patriotic music and Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture-- punctuated by 75-millimeter Howitzer cannons (firing blanks we presume) and spectacular fireworks over Town Lake. www.austinsymphony.org

Christmastime- TRAIL OF LIGHTS FESTIVAL
