I
am originally from San Antonio, Texas. I moved to Austin
in 2000 where I received a B.F.A. in Studio Art from the
University of Texas at Austin. I studied mostly sculpture
and printmaking (lithography). In the fall 2001 I traveled
abroad to Italy to study art and architecture. It was
there that I created these works, with the exception of
"bird," which was created recently.
I love the
creaminess and opaqueness of oil pastels, how they can melt
into the paper and create such bright colors. I
created the objects in the drawings from objects I saw in real
life and they are combined with objects I invented to
create an unexpected harmony.
Austin is a
perfect place for creating art. I love everything
there is to do here, especially swimming. If I am
intentional I can find inspiration just about everywhere I go
here, from the bum on the corner to the dogs at Barton
Springs.

Doolittle |
| I was born
in Southern California but have lived most of my life in Texas,
the past 22 years in Austin. I have been painting since childhood,
and have a degree in art from UT. I work mainly in oils and
watercolors. My subjects include underwater scenes, flowers,
landscapes and birds. Occasionally, I'll do a portrait. Most of my
inspiration comes from nature. |

| S. Lee
Follender |
| Lee's 20
years of experience in painting, sculpture, and human development
have allowed her commitment to making a difference self expression
to flourish. She began painting in the 1960s while still in high
school and has continued on and off through the years, studying
with local artists in Texas, New York, and Toronto as she pursued
her parallel career in Training and Organizational Development.
She began sculpting in clay in 1972 and moved into bronze casting
in 1983 when she made the acquaintance of a local Salado artist
who, taken with her talent, offered to cast one of her clay models
in bronze. He encouraged her to take it to a gallery in San
Antonio, which she did, and it was sold within one month. She
pursued her art full time in the early 1980s and sold more than 75
paintings and sculpture. Then, other pursuits became a priority
and, for a number of years, her art took a "back seat"
while she developed her Consulting career. While she is currently
busy running her own local Consulting business, Action 4 Results,
Lee continues to paint and sculpt. She looks forward to the time
in the near future that she will once again produce her art work
full time.

| Kate
Harwood |
| Kate spent
her early years in Fort Worth, Texas. What one might consider
atypical in Cowtown, she had early exposure to a variety of art
though the city\'s world-class museums. Her mother and father,
fostering her interests, sent her to art camp in the summers and
encouraged year-round exploration of creativity. Kate's early work
includes desert landscapes she contributed to the restored Aztec
Theatre in Albany, Texas. Her current works using oil on micro
density fiberboard are abstractions inspired by nature and
everyday items. Kate prefers to paint for the space in which a
piece will reside or in consideration of the people for whom she
is painting |

| I was Born
an Air Force Brat in Tokyo, Japan, as such, I have been exposed to
many cultures and their rich heritages. I even had the privilege
to live in Germany and travel around Europe. Needless to say, we
never stayed in one place for too long. It makes childhood
very...interesting. I have been drawing since I was two, and
fulfilled my passion for art by graduating from the University of
Texas at Austin with a Bachelor\'s degree in Fine Art (I hope to
go back one day and get my Masters, maybe). Needless to say, once
in Austin, I haven't left. I love Austin, despite the more
corporate feel that has invaded. Austin, still is Austin, no
matter the extra glizt and polish added to the surface. Guess that
is why I love it still.
